Cheryl Olsten

Cheryl Olsten grew up on Long Island, where early trips into New York City sparked her love of photography, magazines, and storytelling. She went on to study visual communications at Syracuse University before settling in Pennsylvania, just across the Delaware River from New Jersey.

In 1999, inspired by the beauty and character of the Garden State, Cheryl launched New Jersey Life magazine and later New Jersey Life Health & Beauty. As a publisher for twelve years, she worked closely with talented editors, writers, and photographers. This experience deepened her appreciation for the written word and helped shape the storytelling voice she uses in her children’s books today.

Cheryl lives in New Hope, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Steven, and their pup, Nugget. Their three grown children and the shelves of imaginative books they once read together continue to inspire the stories she now writes. She hopes her books will feed the curiosity and wonder of young readers for years to come.
